Repair Cafes

I was reading this article the other day about how the French capital is hosting a dozen of those so-called “repair cafes”. You can bring in any broken electronic device such as a broken phone and a professional volunteer of the electronic field will help you repair them. I thought this was very neat and I think the United States should consider trying them here.

  1. What a concept! I did a quick Google search and came across this Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repair_caf%C3%A9

I did quick searches but did not find any repair cafes in the Greater Las Vegas valley. I wonder when this will catch on here?

  2. It seems we have that here, right? There's a place called iPhone Doctor. Are these cafes in France modeled in that way? Personally, I do not trust the ones here. I have had work done by them and had to get a whole new device. However, it's probably the work of Apple and not so much the repair places. Definitely going to look into the article! Thank you.

  3. What an interesting concept. They should definitely consider bringing that concept here. I think repairing devices electronics can be very pricey at times, and this would help those who don't have the funds to spare for repairs.

  4. I love hearing about stuff like this. I wish in the U.S we would have things like this that help people and the community.

  5. I can fix your computer for you, but that's about it LOL. However, this is cool to know cause I do have a few electronic devices I'd like fix. I wonder if there's any café like this in Vegas.

  6. Seems like a very neat thing I would like to visit sometime. It would be nice to drop off your device and grab a drink or something.

  7. This is truly an idea to lift off the ground here in the U.S. I can't help but think of those Capital One Cafes now though. I have seen some small scale electronic repair places around, but never in a completely inviting atmosphere like that.

  8. The "repair cafés" are a nice thing that France has; Unfortunately, it reminds me of the saying, "If you're good at something, why do it for free?"
